Payroll

My people are my business, they simply have to be paid accurately and on time

We offer a fully managed service, i.e. a totally outsourced payroll function suitable for organisations who do not have, or want, the expense of providing a highly specialised and labour intensive payroll facility of their own.

Our fully managed service makes things as simple as possible for you.

First, you give us the details of your employees and pay arrangements so we can set things up. Then for every payroll period we process your data, print payslips and, if required, make BACS payments to staff and third parties.

JCHR provides quality outsourced UK payroll and HR services for employers.

Or do you just want HR?

We take care of:

To make this happen, we employ CIPP qualified payroll professionals to:

You will have a dedicated account handler who works on your payroll and can answer queries directly. That level of personal contact and communication means that we can offer flexibility when you need it, because we understand the pressures of time in your business. For instance, if you occasionally need an extra day to provide information because something urgent crops up, we’ll do our best to help.

Making The Change

Whether you process your payroll in-house or already have an existing payroll service provider, we can deliver a fresh alternative, at a time that suits you. There is no need to wait until the beginning of a new tax year.

JC Payroll’s website contains a range of useful factsheets & forms and you can find them by clicking here.

What about your international employees/secondees?

In an ever increasingly global economy many companies need to look beyond the UK to maximise business opportunities. This often leads to movements of staff, both into and out of the UK, to ensure the required skill sets are satisfied.

The first thing that an employer will need to obtain is good quality advice about cost and risk. Sending an employee abroad can cost up to 4 times their UK package, and employers have to ensure that they are fully compliant with all  countries’ legislation. You can access this specialist advice through our parent company James Cowper Kreston.

Once the decision has been made to move staff and we have advised how your assignees should be treated, the next step is to make sure your payroll runs effectively. The assignment may have a minor impact on your existing payroll or may require a separate PAYE scheme, under various modified arrangements.

We have vast experience in managing International payrolls, both Inbound and Outbound, and already do so for many global employers.

The submission of the form P11D together with the form P11D(b) is a critical ‘year end’ requirement. Whilst not directly linked to payroll processing these forms report to HM Revenue & Customs all expenses and benefits provided to Directors and employees throughout the tax year. We are happy to handle this reporting requirement on your behalf under a separate service agreement.

A form P11D is used when reporting expenses and benefits provided to all company Directors and employees.

The P11D submission deadline is different from the payroll (P35) deadline, they are as follow:

  • P11D and P11D(b) must be received by HM Revenue & Customs by 6th July
  • Payment of Class 1A must be received by HM Revenue & Customs on the 19th July if payment by cheque or 22nd July if by electronic transfer.

Further guidance is available from the HM Revenue & Customs P11D Guide – Download >>

Insurance against the professional costs associated with tax investigations.

Tax Inspectors regularly look at Employer Compliance (PAYE, P11D and NIC) matters throughout a range of businesses in order to identify potential errors – items such as employee status, casual payments and expenses as these areas often lead to potential discrepancies. Clients of JC Payroll are entitled to take out an insurance policy to cover the firm’s costs should HMRC decide to investigate your Employer Compliance affairs.

Recent stories in the press highlight HM Revenue & Customs investigations into the affairs of taxpayers, and there may be justification for those particular enquiries. What is often not appreciated is that HM Revenue & Customs have the right to carry out what is known as a “Compliance Check” for any reason that they choose.

At JC Payroll Services and James Cowper Kreston we have experience of a wide variety of Compliance Checks. Some have been easy to answer but some have been technical to answer and have taken over a year to complete the check and bring it to a conclusion.
